Channon, John, 109 St Martin's Lane, London, cm (b. 1711–d. c. 1783). In the 18th century there were many Channons living in Exeter and Tiverton, and it is not always possible to establish their precise relationship to each other.
Greer, William, Rupert St, Westminster, London, u (1720–66). Son of Alexander Greer of Critchel More, Dorset, Gent. App. to Phineas Sale, 14 September 1720, and free of the Upholders’ Co. by servitude, 6 June 1733. In 1738 took app. named Gedding.
Ikin, Abel, against the ‘King's Arms’, Briggate, Leeds, Yorks., u (1729–32). In April 1729 stated that he stocked ‘Bedding viz.
Leadbetter, Thomas, Liverpool, u (1767–d. by 1772). Free 24 November 1767 but did not trade for long. In December 1772 an auction sale of the remaining stock of the late Thomas Leadbetter was announced.
Morland, John, address unrecorded, u (1768–69). A long bill in the Kendal RO from John Morland to Thomas Morland is dated July 1768, totals £55 6s 9¼d, and was receipted in full on 5 June 1769.
Searle, John, Saffron Walden, Essex (?), cm (1778–93). In 1778 supplied Sir John Griffin Griffin of Audley End, Essex with six looking-glasses and one swing looking-glass at 16s 6d. In 1793 buckram strapping etc.
Vile, William, Castle Lane (later 72 St Martin's Lane), London, cm (c. 1700/05–d. 1767). William Vile was born early in the 18th century, probably in Somerset.
