address unrecorded; marqueteur (fl.c.1760-65)

One of a pair of marquetry commodes at The Vyne, Hants., c. 1760–65, attributed to Pierre Langlois, is inscribed ‘Zurn’ on the score sheet of a marquetry musical trophy, presumably a specialist inlayer. (illus. Conn., vol. 179, 1972, pp. 181–83; Gilbert (1996), figs 1033-1034).
