23 Francis St, Tottenham Court Rd, London; carver and gilder (1835–39)
An oval convex mirror or girandole in a gilt frame of Regency character is known, the label of which describes the business as ‘Cheap Window Cornice & Picture Frame Manufacturer’. It offered a wide range of frames, gilt, rosewood and maple, and stated that the business restored pictures and re-silvered mirrors. [Antiques, May 1968, also illus. Gilbert (1996), figs 691-692].
