Francis, William

104 New Bond St & 82 Baker Street, London; cabinet maker and upholder (fl.1793–1857)

Brother in law and partner of Charles Elliott (d.1832) and succeeded him as Royal cabinet maker. Wm W Francis was recorded in the Lord Chamberlain’s accounts 1832-45 & 1870. Between the end of 1855 and the beginning of 1857, with the firm of Mealing & Son, they jointly supplied over 100 Windsor chairs for kitchens and servants’ quarters at Buckingham Palace, Kew Palace and Windsor Castle.
