Recorded at New Square, near John’s Gate, 1769-75. Limerick Chronicle, 13 October 1768: ‘Patrick Connery, cabinet-maker, at the New Square, near John's Gate, Limerick, returns his grateful thanks to all those who have favoured him with their commands, begs leave to inform them, that he has at present ready for sale, a choice assortment in the newest fashion, as good as any made in the Kingdom, such as sideboards, dining tables, tea and card tables, chairs, desks, tallboys, chest of drawers, press and camp beds, wine coopers, bureaus, etc, with sundry articles too numerous to mention made of the best Jamaica mahogany, American walnut tree, and oak well seasoned, with which he is well supplied’.
